The Old Wharf Inn – Stourbridge

We always enjoy a pub stove installation. The Old Wharf Inn is an independently owned, canal-side pub located in the hearth of Stourbridge and opening in summer 2019. 

Approaching The Old Wharf Inn we discovered an existing feature brickwork arched fireplace. We suggested a British made Charnwood C5 with a convenient log store underneath. With the tastefully decorated interior of the pub we suggested a colour blue for the stove which works absolutely fantastic. 

We started off by removing the existing gas flue liner and cleaning up the top of the stack. Unfortunately the chimney had been lowered at some point and was lower than the neighbouring stack.  We used a locally made Midtherm flue system and bolted an anchor plate to the top and extended the height of the chimney with an 800mm length of insulated flue pipe. We then lined the chimney with a Midtherm flexible flue liner. We installed a register plate up within the opening out of sight. A flue test point was installed and a flue draught reading was taken upon installation to check for extraction interference from the kitchen. All commissioned and running smoothly.
